When we met with some of our secondary students, we asked them to outline a typical week in their school life. The following is an example for you:
4:45 - Time to get up
5 - 6:15 - Prep classes (personal study time)
6:15 - 6:45 - Community Work / Clean up
6:45 - 7 - Breakfast
7 to 4 pm - Classes - with a break for lunch
4 - 5 - extra curricular - some are involved in sport - football / basketball
- some in music
5 - 6 - Supper
6 - 9:30 - evening classes / prep
On Saturdays, some schools get them up even earlier and all seem to have an average of 4 hours of prep classes. They have free time for 2 - 4 hours on Saturday afternoons.
Sunday they do get a bit of a sleep in - up at 6 am sharp, at least 3 hours of personal studies, an some free time.
All the students report enjoying school, no real issues or problems. First years did say that it was hard to adjust to being away from home, but they did adjust!
