                Questions schools, groups or organizations who may want to be involved may ask!

                How much do we have to raise?
                That is up to you. A guideline that we have felt was useful was asking each student to give up something that cost them $1 each month. If a school can raise $1/mo/student, that goes a long way to buying supplies in Rwanda!! We do ask that you come to a figure and let us know what it is so that we may plan. Kids for Kids also act as a safety net should you be unable to make your financial goal. We are also in the final stages of producing a handbook for school that are starting a sponsorship program.

                How do we know the money gets there?
                Carolyn Spence has formed relationships with key education leaders in Kigeme. Kids for Kids receive financial statements and monies are spent in order of need. Each year when she visits she is able to see improvements etc.

                Can groups other than schools sponsor?
                Absolutely. We would love to talk with any group that would like to be involved in sponsoring this school.  Your sponsorship might look different than that of a schools but the same principles apply.

                Kigeme Primary:  Kigeme, Rwanda

                Kigeme Primary has an enrollment of 1579 students with 34 teachers;

                1579 Students:                        34 Staff:-
                 - 32  - nursery                           - 1  -  nursery
                - 1255 – grades 1 – 6                - 21 – grades 1 – 6
                - 323 – grades 7 - 9                  - 12 – grades 7 – 9

                 Approximately 30% of the schools population is from extremely poor families. They have little in  the way of supplies and books and some of the schools older structures need work. What they lack in resources they make  up for in spirit and smiles. Many walk miles to come to school,  wanting to learn more than anything else. When Carolyn visited the summer of 2008, the school was actually on  vacation but when they heard she was there with four SD# 46  students who wanted to teach them English, they returned in droves.  Our Sunshine Coast students led a class of 100 in  successful English lessons!

                Because of the size of this school we are looking for a few Elementary Schools/organizations to partner with them.  Presently they are supported in part by Ecole de Cedardale, West Vancouver.
