Kenyan Secondary

Dennis
We had our first class write the required KCPE National exam in November of 2010. Now, seven years later we have 42 students between year 1 and 4, and 14 students graduated from secondary school. Each year the results on the National exam that students write at the end of primary school have improved! This has helped to place them in good secondary schools.
In the National exam, students have to score at least 350 out of the possible 500 in order to get accepted into a secondary school of their choice outside of the slum.
On the left is Dennis who has now finished secondary and has earned himself a place in university beginning this September. He came back and is talking to the grade 7's about his secondary school experience.
Sponsorship for a student attending secondary school in Kenya is $400.
