Tumaini School - Nairobi, KenyaTumaini means Hope in Kiswahili, and hope was the driving force when sponsorship of this school started in 2005. Originally a project with 45 students being schooled in a building with dirt floors and tin walls, these students and a few staff had little to work with other than their desire to give and receive an education. Now, 7 years later, stands a new school building with 285 students gracing its’ classrooms. In partnership with our Belgian friends, The Giraffe Project, Kids for Kids works to find individual sponsors for the students at Tumaini. Sponsorship is $25/month and includes all supplies, 2 hot meals a day as well as costs associated with operating the school. Parents contribute what they can towards their child's education.
