Tumaini Day - July 20th

Today we spent the day at the school!!  It was so much fun to see all the kids.  They are getting quite used to us and are more comfortable coming up and greeting  us.  We met with the head teacher first - he served us tea and we chatted.  There are now 350 students at the school and he is very pleased with how they are all doing!

Then we set up in a room and prepared to see all our sponsored students and give them their bag of gifts from their sponsors.  This is always exciting, and it is interesting to see the changes in our students as they grow!

We also visited the Bead Ladies and the Tailoring group - placed an order for our craft sales this fall.  Great stuff - we will add to it from the market and the Kazuri Bead Factory this week.

We are in Nairobi!!  This is the first opportunity that we have had to make a blog entry!  Long flights!
We stopped over in London, and had fun exploring the downtown for the afternoon.

We landed in Nairobi at 9:15 pm Saturday evening.  After buying our VISA's, gathering our luggage, being driven to our guesthouse and then organizing and having a light meal - we headed to bed @ 2 am!  Little tired!!

This morning we headed to Church at Living Word in Muthare - it is the church that started the school!  We saw a lot of our friends, and a few of the students!  We were taken for lunch by Polly, our sponsor coordinator.  It was quite nice!

We have spent the rest of the afternoon sorting out all the packages and getting things ready to visit the school tomorrow - we are very excited!!!
