Day 1 at Tumaini

Hello All,
We started the day at Tumaini with a tour to show our new team members the school and give them a brief history.  We were very excited to see that a new wood burning oven has been purchased for the food program.  It is way more efficient, allowing food for the entire school to be cooked at once as well as using less wood.  It is already saving the school money!

Then we had the honour and pleasure of handing out the packages sent by sponsors to their sponsored student.  The faces were fantastic, and we were very encouraged by the fact that most of the students knew the name of their sponsor.
This is our little Kenyan brother, Juma, sponsored by our parents!

Deandra, Trinita and Lauren really enjoyed meeting students and Deandra was so taken by this little guy that she jumped on the sponsor list!!  We welcome Deandra and Bravin Shikuku to the Kids 4 Kids family!

We took on 17 new students today, 8 of which are spoken for!  If you are interested in sponsoring, just let us know!

We also had the pleasure of handing out much needed new uniforms to some students.  Here are 2 of the new students modelling their new dresses made by a sewing group at Christ the Redeemer Church - the same group that made all the package bags!!
