We survived a run in the 'Running Capital of Kenya'! We only saw one other runner, and he went by us like we were walking backwards..... Oh well, we still did it!!
Then we headed out to one of the secondary schools where we have a young lady, Faith, attending in her third year of secondary schooling. Five other students from three other schools made their way there as well to see us. We had a nice visit, and heard what life was like at a secondary school! These kids get up at times ranging from 4 to 4:45 every morning but Sunday's! Their days are very scheduled - right up till 10 at night! They are all doing very well!
Then we headed to Pastor Oliver's family home for lunch! And what a meal!! Afterwards a number of farmers gathered in the front yard to chat with Rachael. It was very interesting to hear what the farmers' lives are like, what they find works for them and what they may struggle with. We sat and chatted for a couple of hours, exchanging information and making suggestions. What a great group! Very interactive and willing to try new things. Rachael offered to continue communicating with them over email to offer suggestions as they try to implement new animal husbandry practices. We really enjoyed ourselves. Such down to earth, beautiful people.
Then back to Eldoret and our hotel! An earlier evening- rest! Tomorrow we will visit one other place then head back to Nairobi!!
