We started the day at Living Word Church in Muthare North with all our friends from Tumaini.  We were treated to some wonderful worship.  This is a picture of the choir - the young man in the white in front is one of our sponsored students - Michael!!  It was a treat to see him up there singing!

After church we were treated to lunch with the Tumaini Board, and then had a meeting so they could tell us all the fantastic things happening at the school.
Highlights:
- School enrolment is 288; 148 girls, 140 boys
-  Kids for Kids currently sponsors 97 of these students and have just added 17 students.
- The results in the National Exams are increasing over the last few years, and the staff are very confident they will continue on an upward trend.
- Teachers are upgrading regularly by attending different professional development opportunities.
- Staff consists of the Principal, Assistant Principal, 16 teachers and 7 support staff.

After the meeting we packed up all our stuff to be ready for a very early departure tomorrow morning for the airport.

We ended the evening with a great meal - food has been fantastic!  Here is our chef, Muhoru!!

Next blog will be from Kigeme, Rwanda!  If it is a couple days it will be because we are having difficulty accessing the internet - but we will get one out to you as soon as possible!

Pleased to see the before & after pictures of the school renovation, a huge positive change... and then to read the highlights of the Tumaini Board ... terrific results for the school and the Kids 4 Kids project. We are looking forward to the blog updates from Rwanda. Love to Lauren and all. Continued safe travels.

Wow! Did that week ever go fast! I really enjoyed hearing about your time in Kenya. So many people are working hard to make this project excellent. The bead factory sounded very interesting. Awesome that the women get health benefits for their family. Hoping that your travels to Kigeme go smoothly. I will be thinking about you! Take care and looking forward to hearing from Rwanda.
